Battle LA vs Contra Alliance

I was in high anticipation to watch Battle: Los Angeles for two reasons: 1) The U.S. war scenes repelling invasion looked realistic; 2) The trailers reminded me of what Contra Alliance would look / feel like on a global scale. The film’s special effects and street battles were fantastic. Urban warfare in Santa Monica between U.S. Marines and alien invaders felt real. This aspect of the movie was enough to hold my interest.

The downside of Battle LA was in the dialogue and certain weak plotting that showcased lesser realism than the concept was capable of delivering. I’ll still round up to an 8 out of 10 rating for this flick. It did well at the box office coming in at #1 with ~$36M and begging the question…who will be the Ad Wizard to recognize what The Contra Alliance Franchise is?
